Its planking old and worn
And on this lonely side I stand
Forgotten and forlorn

Many times it length I've crossed
To join you on your side
As you have journeyed oft in turn
Across the great divide

The bridge has weathered many storms
Neglect and disrepair
So now it scarce can bear the weight
To bring me safely there

It sways and shudders with each step
I take to cross the breach
Less often do I venture forth
Though you're within my reach

The bridge grows weaker day by day
A sad link to the past
And though I long to cross again
I fear it won't hold fast

I'm terrified to cross alone

Outshine the red?
It's fragrance near as sweet

Is there more pleasure
In it's form
It's beauty more complete?

The rose of red
Does speak of love
The white of something pure

And each in turn
Oft captivates
Emotes a special lure

Yet exists a preference
In us all
On this we must reflect

That given choice
There is a draw
To hold one more select

This loving dream, that she has caught

Soothing her with gentle word
The sweetest voice she's ever heard

In minds embrace he holds her near
Shielding her from every fear

Speak a love that's undemanding

He is her strength by being there
Encouraging and showing care

Inspiring her to new found heights
And showering her with loves delights

Secure in him, she is set free
And is this not, how love should be?
