I got a new car today!!!!!
Now that's exciting enough all by itself, but, when you add the fact that it's my dream car, and a completely unexpected GIFT....WOW!!!!!!!There's a story behind this of course
I haven't had my own car for nearly 10 years now. Mine (a gorgeous 1981 Grand Prix) had been totaled in an accident back then, and going through a divorce, financial devastation and trying to provide for my son and daughter, well suffice it to say that my budget just didn't allow for even the smallest luxury. The years went by and with patience and perseverance I raised my kids, kept our home, and in the last 3 years finally got my head above water. Missing not having a car and the freedom it afforded me, but happy and getting by using my son's truck when needed.
Well, today my son came home from work, called me outside and handed me the keys to a gorgeous, fully loaded, black 1987 Grand Prix.
Why? "because of everything you done for me Mom, you're the best,
and I love you more than anyone"
Did I cry? HELL YES!! Because of the gift of the car? Oh sure, a little. But mostly because of the words. Because, despite the hardships, the struggles and sacrifices, it's all been worth it. Just to hear those words and to know that the things I've done are appreciated. That's the best gift ever!
