Sad, Happy, Sad, Happy

Fri Sep 12, 2008, 11:03 PM
  • Listening to: silence
  • Reading: a list of my soon to be duties
  • Watching: a dust mote
  • Playing: with some ideas
  • Eating: pistachios
  • Drinking: pepsi
No, this is not a hormonally based mood swing :giggle: Just some circumstance based conflict of emotions.

The sad, well summer is waning and that always makes me sad. Shorter days, longer nights, not to mention the impending cold. Along with the waning of summer, so ends my lengthy and mostly enjoyable flirtation with unemployment and school.

Happy, Monday I start a new job. I'll be a production assistant at Mondetta.

Sad, it's not quite the job I wanted with less opportunity for advancement than I'd hoped.

Happy, it is a pay increase with a good benefits package, and now I can go back to keeping the bills more comfortably at bay and finally get the new camera I've been pining away for :D

See, it makes perfect sense

I imagine it's going to take a couple of weeks to get back into the swing of things. Going to bed earlier, getting out of bed earlier, time management and structure. Why oh why couldn't I just win the lottery instead!

Enjoy the fall weather everyone, and wish me luck! :D

Thanks dear! I definitely need it! After almost 2 weeks there, I'm finding that this is a killer job...and not in a good way! Since January 4 other people have tried it. One only stayed one day! :lmao:

Thanks!! :glomp: Sorry for the slow response. It's been hard getting back into some sort of work related routine here. And the new job is quite difficult. Since January, 4 people besides me have tried it....one only stayed one day  I can understand why....I was sorely tempted to leave myself on Tuesday. :D

Hi Linda, Good luck with all the changes in your life. Hope it all works out for you. Fall is coming fast to Colorado our leaves are changing and the nights are about 45 degrees and up into the mid 70s during the day. Perfect weather I think

Thanks Sandy! I'm going to need the good luck. I can understand why 4 people have quit this job in less than a year! Our days are averaging about 64 I think. I'd prefer a wee bit warmer yet...but then right now I seem to be stuck indoors most of the time so I guess it doesnt matter

"circumstance based conflict of emotions" <<<I like that definition.
I have only been working part time, but a structured scedule is tough sometimes.
Fall weather? Where? Can you send some of that down here to Florida? :)

Right now I think I'd trade you for part time, no questions asked. I can see why the last 4 people quit (none stayed longer than 3 months)

As for fall weather, there's an abundance of it here in the center of Canada...I'd be sooooooooooo happy to share! :D

Changing jobs can be really difficult. This time 4 years ago I got leave without pay from my usual job (was really bored)... tried another for 12 months ... ended up miserable ... returned to my old job (teacher aide - primary school) then applied for my current job (teacher aide/admin assistant high school)

:boogie: :boogie: :boogie: super happy now. Hope your change works out really well for you.

Lots of :hug:s from Maz

Difficult is an understatement!! I fully understand why the last 4 people walked out...and I was sorely tempted to myself on Tuesday. I pride myself for sticktoitiveness though....but I don't know...super happy may not be a possibility here  I'm glad that things worked out well for you! It's incredibly important to be happy where you work...since you seem to spend so much of your life there :D
Thanks for the well wishes dear! I'm definitely going to need them!
